Another day, another Twitter rant. Donald Trump went on a Twitter tirade against Morning Joe cohosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, and even suggested they’re secretly dating.
During the Monday, August 22, broadcast, the MSNBC stars criticized Trump’s campaign style, and he happened to be tuning in at the time.
The Republican presidential nominee, 70, lashed out on Twitter, writing, “Tried watching low-rated @Morning_Joe this morning, unwatchable! @morningmika is off the wall, a neurotic and not very bright mess!”
He then implied that Brzezinski, 49, and Scarborough, 53, who are both recently divorced, were having a long-term affair, and threatened to spill personal details about the pair in the future.
“Some day, when things calm down, I’ll tell the real story of @JoeNBC and his very insecure long-time girlfriend, @morningmika. Two clowns!” the former Apprentice star tweeted.
Brzezinski and her husband of 23 years, James Hoffer, quietly divorced earlier this year, according to Page Six. Scarborough has been divorced from his second wife, Susan Waren, since 2013.
Scarborough hit back by writing, “@HillaryClinton is targeting key swing states today while Trump starts his day obsessed with cable news hosts while channeling Gawker. SAD!” He defended his coworker, adding, “Neurotic and not very bright? Look in the mirror."
The talk show’s namesake star also quoted Trump’s new campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, tweeting, “He doesn’t hurl personal insults and he regrets causing personal pain based on things that he has said.”
The billionaire businessman used to have a friendly relationship with Morning Joe and regularly called into the show during the GOP primary, but the cohosts have became increasingly critical of Trump. Earlier this month, Scarborough told the Republican party to dump Trump as its candidate.
