Fans are convinced that Justin Baldoni’s wife, Emily Baldoni, threw some subtle shade Blake Lively’s way while the couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary.
Justin, 42, kicked off the occasion on Monday, July 27, with a sweet social media tribute to his wife.
“13 years later… we’re still dancing. ❤️ Happy anniversary, my love,” he wrote via Instagram alongside a throwback snap from the pair’s wedding day. “I’m pretty sure this was the exact moment my pants ripped open. 😂 #FinallyTeenagers.”
Emily, for her part, shared a post for her husband — with a message that raised some eyebrows.
“Marriage: still my favorite lift. 😜 Thirteen, baby!!” she captioned the post on Monday.
The tribute featured a photo of Justin picking her up for a sweet kiss after exchanging vows.
Several eagle-eyed fans believed that Emily’s caption may have been in reference to Lively’s claim that Justin made negative comments about her weight while preparing for a scene in It Ends With Us in which he would pick her up.
“I see what you did there 😂😂 Happy Anniversary ❤️❤️❤️,” one fan replied to the post, while another quipped, “I bet you this lift did not hurt his back!”
Several fans also applauded Emily’s clever caption.
“🏋🏻‘Still my favorite lift.’ 😂❤️ I LOVE that! Happy 13th Anniversary to you both. Here’s to many more years of lifting each other up! 🥂✨,” a fan wrote, while another responded, “I’ll ‘Lift’ my glass to that, dear queen!🥂.”
Artist Mayi Carles, who is friends with Emily, 41, and Justin, came to her pal’s defense, asserting that her post was not an intentional dig.
“The funniest part about this whole 🔥 is that it’s happening entirely in people’s heads. 😂,” Carles replied. “I know Emily. She would rather disappear into the woods than throw shade on social media.”
Us has reached out to Justin and Emily’s spokesperson for comment.
Ahead of their anniversary, Emily stayed by her husband’s side throughout his legal drama with Lively, 38. In December 2024, Lively accused her It Ends With Us costar and director of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and orchestrating an alleged smear campaign against her. Justin vehemently denied the allegations and countersued Lively.
Justin’s lawsuit was dismissed by a judge in June 2025. Earlier this year, Justin and Lively settled her lawsuit out of court. The settlement, which took place in May, was reached weeks before the pair were scheduled to go to trial.
“The end product — the movie It Ends With Us — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind,” Lively and Justin said in a statement to Us via their attorneys on May 4. “We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard.”
The statement continued, “We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
Lively later requested that Justin pay her legal fees — a cost of approximately $8 million — but his lawyers argued the “motion should be denied in its entirety,” claiming the expectation was “excessive.”
