No hard feelings here! More than a year and a half after their split, French Montana opened up about his friendship with ex-girlfriend Khloé Kardashian during a new interview.
The “Figure It Out” rapper and the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, both 31, have remained close pals and have even been spotted hanging out on multiple occasions since their December 2014 split.
“We cool. I think we’re always gonna be friends,” Montana explained during an interview on The Wendy Williams Show on Tuesday, June 7. The former couple’s romance lasted for eight months.
The hip-hop entertainer, who is expected to release his second studio album, MC4, in August, added, “I’m cool with that whole family. I’ve got nothing but love for them.”
Kardashian previously stated that she broke up with Montana because she rushed into their relationship following her split from estranged husband Lamar Odom. “It’s nothing against French. I just think I don’t want a boyfriend,” she said during a December 2014 episode of Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons. “I jumped into something because I was just, like, lonely and destructive. But now I’m like, I just want to be alone.”
Montana also opened up to Wendy Williams about his close pal Kanye West, who is married to Khloé’s sister Kim Kardashian.
As Us Weekly previously reported, the “Famous” rapper, 39, was forced to cancel a surprise concert at NYC’s Webster Hall after it caused a near-riot on the streets of the East Village on Sunday, June 5.
Montana was originally scheduled to appear at the event, but he told the daytime talk show host on Tuesday that the massive crowd scared him away. “Once I saw the picture, there was no way I was going down there. It’s like World War Z!” he joked.
