Love Is Blind’s Giannina Milady Gibelli is happy she didn’t rush down the wedding aisle and towards Blake Horstmann.
“I know, it feels like we’ve been engaged forever. That was by design,” Giannina, 33, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while attending the Absolut Hottest Brunch: Desert Edition in Palm Springs, California, on Saturday, April 11.
“It was the only thing that I’ve kind of taken away with my Love is Blind experience,” she added. “I’m not traumatized by it at all. I don’t think he’s gonna leave me at the altar. Nothing like that. I just wanted it to be very different from that whole experience.”
Giannina previously appeared on 2020’s season 1 of Love Is Blind. While she got engaged to Damian Powers, they split before exchanging vows.
Two years later, the reality star met Blake, 36, while appearing on season 1 of the Paramount+ show All Star Shore. Since the pair’s November 2024 engagement, they’ve promised fans and family alike that their wedding is “getting closer.”
“I wanted to just be really meticulous with my venue, and I wanted to have an engagement longer than five weeks,” Giannina explained to Us. “And I think it’s been fantastic and great, but I am ready to call him my husband, for sure.”

While the couple is staying mum on the specific details surrounding their impending nuptials, Giannina said her bachelorette party was in Amsterdam and her wedding will have a “completely different vibe.”
Blake added, “We’re doing well with the planning. We’re in a good spot. I’m starting to get stressed out a little, I’ll be honest. I’m starting to stress because it is a destination wedding. There’s a lot involved logistically, but it’s been good. We’re in a good place.”
Over the weekend, Blake and Giannina pressed pause on any wedding plans to focus on enjoying three days of music and parties at Coachella in Indio, California.
In between enjoying the music festival’s headliners – including Justin Bieber, Karol G and Sabrina Carpenter — the couple was able to enjoy the new Absolut Tabasco, a spicy flavored vodka that is the perfect balance of heat and flavor.
Blake was also able to showcase his DJ skills at The Absolut Heat Haus on festival grounds.
“I’ve been doing it officially eight years now., I’ve been at it for a minute,” Blake told Us. “There are a lot of new DJs on the scene and honestly, more power to them. I still consider myself — me and DJ Pauly D — we’re the pioneers. … I play with Absolut every Coachella. It’s been a blast. It’s so much fun. We always put on a vibe dance party in there, air-conditioned. It’s great.”
