Gisele Bündchen is reflecting on her life in New England with ex-husband Tom Brady.
“I had moved to Boston and was living a much quieter life,” the supermodel, 45, told W Magazine in an interview published on Wednesday, June 10. “Earlier in my career, everything was about achievement and saying yes to every opportunity.”
Bündchen continued, “Over time, I began to understand the importance of finding balance. My spiritual practice helped me become more present and more connected to myself. Instead of focusing on external expectations, I started paying attention to how I felt internally. That changed everything — not only my work, but also the way I experienced life.”
Bündchen and Brady, 48, tied the knot in 2009 after three years of dating. The pair went on to welcome kids Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13, before their October 2022 divorce. (Brady is also a dad to son Jack, 18, with ex Bridget Moynahan, while Bündchen shares a 16-month-old son with husband Joaquim Valente.)
Though Bündchen lived in Boston for much of her marriage to Brady, the now-exes relocated their family to Florida in 2020 when the NFL star left the New England Patriots to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“What a ride the last decade has been. Boston has been so good to us and will always be in our hearts. We will forever have wonderful memories,” Bündchen wrote via Instagram when they moved. “Our kids were born and raised there, and we have made special friendships to last a lifetime.”
The Brazil native continued, “I’ll miss our friends, the beautiful change of seasons and the rides to the stadium to go cheer for Tom and the Pats. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of my husband and our family throughout all these years. We will miss you.”
One thing Bündchen wasn’t a fan of in Boston, though, was the colder weather.
“Why do I live here? It’s called love,” she told Vogue in 2018. “I love my husband. My kids were born here in our old apartment on Beacon Street. They’re little Bostonians, and they love the weather. But I’m not going to lie. Cold is not my flavor. I’m Brazilian. I’d rather live barefoot in a hut in the middle of the forest somewhere.”
Today, Bündchen lives in Miami with Valente, 39, whom she married in December 2025, 10 months after they welcomed their son.
“Now that my little one is sleeping through the night, I’m back in control of my routine,” Bündchen told Vogue France in May 2025. “As any new mom knows, it’s incredible how much sleep — or lack of it — can change everything! But once again, I feel truly grateful: being able to be home with my kids and enjoy every moment with them is priceless.”
