Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are ready to take the next step — make that steps — in their relationship.
The former co-mentors on NBC’s The Voice, who began dating last October, “talk openly about their future together,” says a Stefani family source. “They say things like, ‘When we get married . . .’ all the time.” Married with children, that is: The 46-year-old mom of Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2 (with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale) “is totally smitten and wants to have a baby with Blake,” says a Stefani friend. “Gwen is trying to get pregnant.”
Shelton, 39, dreamed of fatherhood for years. In fact, his desire was a factor in his summer 2015 split from wife of four years Miranda Lambert. “Blake was dying to have kids,” says a source, “but Miranda kept putting it off.”
The “Make Me Like You” singer, on the other hand, hopes to see his wish fulfilled. “Gwen says she wants to give Blake his own kid,” says the Stefani friend, adding that the mom of three boys has her own motivation: “She wants a girl!”
Playing dad comes naturally to Shelton. Since he and Stefani became an item, he has become “closer and closer” with Stefani’s sons, says the Shelton source: “The boys love him.”
The seven-time Grammy nominee, who owns an Oklahoma ranch but rents an L.A. pad, often sleeps over at Stefani’s Beverly Hills compound. Continues the Shelton source, “Blake always wanted a family, and it’s looking like he got one.”
