Happy Days star Al Molinaro has passed away. The actor — who played the chef turned beloved owner of Arnold’s diner, Al Delvecchio, on the iconic series — was 96.

According to TMZ, Molinaro died on Thursday, Oct. 30, in his home state of Wisconsin. His son, Michael, confirmed the actor’s death and said that Molinaro suffered from bad gall stones.

Molinaro, who played Al on Happy Days for 10 years from 1974 to 1984, also portrayed the character on 1982 spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi. His credits include The Odd Couple, The Family Man, and Freaky Friday.

Molinaro even made an appearance as his beloved character in Weezer’s 1994 music video for “Buddy Holly,” which Spike Jonez directed.

He’s survived by his wife, Betty, and their son, Michael.
