According to TMZ, Diggs, 44, only recently filed a petition in November. The couple, parents to 5-year-old son Walker, finalized their divorce in New York on Dec. 3.
Since the split, the exes have moved on personally and professionally. Diggs and his new girlfriend, model Amanza Smith Brown, made their red carpet debut at the 2014 BET Awards in L.A. on June 29. The following month, he opened up about his amicable breakup from Menzel.
"I'd be lying if I said there weren't times when I thought, 'Oh, man, people are going to trip out [if we split],'" he told Redbook magazine. "There weren't a lot of couples like us in the theater community—and I know there aren't a lot of performers as talented as she is…and then you have the whole mixed [race] thing. It was easy for people to root for us."
In their careers, too. Tony winner Menzel has received an overwhelming amount of support and success since the release of her record-breaking animated film Frozen and its Oscar winning trademark song "Let It Go" in November 2013. She's been vocal about wanting to reprise her role as Queen Elsa on Broadway, and has hinted at a movie sequel. She also starred in the Broadway hit If/Then.
