Influencer Jake Paul has experienced a slew of high highs and various lows since rising to online fame.
Jake and brother Logan Paul first gained fame on the now-defunct Vine app before transitioning to YouTube. In recent years, Jake has shifted from online influencer to professional boxer, competing against some of the greatest in the sport, including Mike Tyson.
In 2022, Jake met Olympic speed skater Jutta Leerdam via Instagram. The pair went public with their relationship in 2023 and announced their engagement two years later.
“I never, ever expected to date him, like never,” Leerdam said in the 2024 documentary Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson. “Of course, I didn’t know a lot about him. I could only scroll on his Instagram and form an opinion like the whole world does. But he is the complete opposite.”

November 2024
Jake beat Tyson in November 2024 at AT&T Stadium in a controversial fight streamed on Netflix.
“It’s such an honor. He’s a legend,” Jake, who is 31 years younger than his opponent, said after his win. Tyson took the loss in stride, writing on X: “This is one of those situations when you lost but still won.”
March 2025
Jake and Leerdam announced their engagement in 2025. “We’re engaged💍🕊️🤍we can’t wait to spend forever together🥹,” the pair wrote in a joint Instagram post at the time.
One year later, Jake supported Leerdam at the 2026 Winter Olympics when she set an Olympic record in the women’s 1,000 meter event with a time of 1:12.31. Cameras caught Jake sobbing as he celebrated her win for the Netherlands.
“Juttttttttttaaaaaaaa. I can’t stop crying,” he wrote after the win. “You did it my love. Olympic Gold. God is great and so are you.”
February 2026
After Logan pushed back on his brother’s criticism of Bad Bunny ahead of the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, Jake clarified his remarks.
“To clarify: I wasn’t calling anyone a ‘fake citizen’ because they’re from Puerto Rico. I live in Puerto Rico, and I love Puerto Rico,” he wrote, sharing that his issue was with Bad Bunny’s criticism of President Donald Trump‘s immigration policies and ICE.
Jake then changed his X bio to “Benito #1 fan” — a reference to Bad Bunny’s full name — and posted, “Guys i love bad bunny idk what happened on my twitter last night ?? wtf.”
Later that month, Jake announced via Instagram that he needed a second surgery on the jaw he broke during his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua the year prior.
“Had to get another jaw surgery,” Paul wrote. “The screws and plates were coming loose because apparently I didn’t rest for the past 2 months whaattttttttt.”
He shared photos from a hospital bed and getting an MRI, along with images of Leerdam pushing him in a wheelchair. Jake also posted what appeared to be AI-generated videos showing him with a “new” robotic chrome jaw, removing it to reveal a metal mechanism before snapping it back in place. “Good as new,” he said in the clip.
