From 2006 to 2007 fans watched with apt interest as Jason Wahler destroyed his relationship with Lauren Conrad (twice) on national television. The complicated pair dealt with the bad boy's cheating and substance abuse on both Laguna Beach and The Hills. But this weekend marked a milestone for each of the former reality stars.
Conrad, 27, got engaged to boyfriend William Tell, and Wahler, 26, walked down the aisle with now-wife Ashley Slack. Leaving his days of partying behind, the Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew alum looked dapper in his white tux as he said his vows in from of around 180 family and friends at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, Calif.
The beautiful bride wore a white, strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline made of elegant lace with a bedded sash. Slack wore her hair up with minimal jewelry as she carried a bouquet of white roses.
The couple celebrated in style at the picturesque ranch. White rose petals were thrown in the air as they recessed down the aisle after the vows.
The glamorous occasion was a far cry from Wahler's surprise 2007 engagement on Season 3 of The Hills, where he invited Conrad to a house warming party and promptly proposed to his girlfriend of a few weeks, Katja, in front of his ex. As it happens, that union didn't pan out and the reality star met Slack a few years later.
After six alcohol-related arrests, Wahler entered a 21-day detoxification treatment program, which aired on Season 4 of VH1's Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew in 2010. The star went on to work at a local California rehab center to help those similarly afflicted, and has admitted to taking multiple attempts on his life while struggling with substance abuse.
After breaking things off with Wahler in 2006, Conrad dated a bit until meeting her now-fiancé Tell, a law student at USC and former Something Corporate band member, on a blind date in February 2012. She announced her engagement on her website over the weekend saying she was "beyond thrilled."
