Now that he's clean and sober, The Hills' Jason Wahler has been able to mend his relationship with ex-girlfriend Lauren Conrad, 25.
"Everything's going well now," Wahler, 24, told Us Weekly at the 2nd Annual Beverly Hills Film, TV & New Media Festival Thursday. "I actually got all my old friends back, everybody that I was with in the past."
Wahler added that it took awhile before he and Conrad were back on "good terms."
"I was in a dark place in my life and it was something I had to clear up," he explained of his 2010 stint in rehab. "It's taken a lot of time and I had a lot of destruction, but it's going well now."
Prior to turning his life around, Wahler had been arrested six times for alcohol-related incidents. Since seeking treatment, Wahler insists his "whole life has changed" for the better.

"I work with the rehab now and I'm actually being of service, giving back," he told Us. "In a way, life is just so much better. I'm excited for the next year. Everything has just been so positive."
