Jayden Wingler, “I Hate That Fire” Kid, Charms Internet With Local TV Video: Watch

A star is born! A young boy named Jayden Wingler charmed the Internet this week when he gave an adorable interview to a local TV news station.

The 4-year-old boy, whose catchphrase of “I hate that fire!” has quickly taken off, bravely spoke to Fox 10 Phoenix after he was involved in a scary incident at Phoenix’s Castles N’ Coasters amusement park. On Friday, March 27, Wingler was in a bumper boat ride with his older brother when their boat caught on fire.

According to the local Fox affiliate, both kids made it out safely but suffered second-degree burns on their legs from the fire. Despite the scare, Wingler gave very spirited color commentary to reporters about what happened.

“I said, ‘What? Is that the fire?!'” the adorable tot said with his arms outstretched, recalling the story. “And then I said, ‘What?!’ And then I said, I said, ‘What?! What happened?'”

“I hate that fire!” he continued. “I just said, ‘I hate that fire!’ And then I just said, ‘I hate that fire!'”

The bumper boats may have been a one-time thing for Wingler, as he quickly turned down his father’s suggestion that the cutie might get back on the ride one day in the future, once he’s healed and the ride has been fixed.

“Oh no, dad!” he shouted, shaking his head and putting his hands up as he spoke. “I’ll never get on another boat. Never again.”
