He just can't get her out of his head.
Confirming an apparently longstanding rumor in the international press, Jean-Claude Van Damme has a confession to make: Nearly 20 years ago, he claims he cheated on his then-wife Darcy LaPier with Kylie Minogue.
Now 51, the action superstar was filming Street Fighter back in 1994 with the Australian pop star and actress, 44, in Thailand.
"I tell you what, you should ask her," the Expendables 2 star told The Guardian when asked about the "Timebomb" singer. "She'll have a better memory. I'm 51 years old, do you know how much I was punched in the face on The Expendables? No, no. No. And let's just say it happened, so what? Who wants to know?"
"OK. Yes, yes, yes. It happened. I was in Thailand, we had an affair," claims Van Damme, who has been married to Gladys Portugues since 1999 (the couple actually divorced in 1992, reconciling later that decade, after his 1997 split from Darcy LaPier).
But Van Damme claims he can't really regret the fling.
"Sweet kiss, beautiful lovemaking," he raved of Minogue. "It would be abnormal not to have had an affair, she's so beautiful and she was there in front of me every day with a beautiful smile, simpatico, so charming, she wasn't acting like a big star. I knew Thailand very well, so I showed her my Thailand. She's a great lady."
Minogue hasn't commented on Van Damme's claims.
These days, never-married Minogue is now dating Spanish model Andres Velencoso. She and French actor Olivier Martinez dated for five years; Martinez, 46, is now engaged to Halle Berry.
