Martial arts star Tito Ortiz claims Jenna Jameson's addiction to Oxycontin led to his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence Monday.

At a press conference Monday, his lawyer Chip Matthews announced that Jameson, 36, "has been fighting a battle with OxyContin addiction for the past year.

"For Tito and her family this has been an uphill battle," he told reporters. "Unfortunately this morning she had a relapse. Tito was trying to help her. She has threatened suicide before. Tito has done everything in his power to protect her privacy and the privacy of their children.

"When you're dealing with people on OxyContin they don't always have the best sense of balance," Matthews continued. "Jenna and Tito have [13-month-old twins sons] together. They planned on spending the rest of their lives together. They want nothing more than to work together on this."

Looking tired, Ortiz told reporters that the support of his friends and family has meant "the world" to him.

"My parents have been through an addiction and I see it in the mirror again," he said. "I am not going to let my family go through that. I speak from my heart, I hold everything dear to my heart that Jenna will be OK." Jameson hasn't commented yet on Ortiz's drug claims.

On Monday, she told TMZ that Ortiz, 35, threw her to the ground at their Huntington Beach, Calif., home, tearing ligaments in her arm.

She said she was going to file a restraining order. Later, she told Radaronline.com that she was "going to work it out for the sake of the kids."
