Jennifer Lawrence better watch her step! In London to attend the 66th British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, Feb. 10, the Silver Linings Playbook actress attended a dinner with her costar Bradley Cooper at Little House on Friday, Feb. 8.
Before the private dinner began, however, Lawrence tripped on a curb outside — and lost her shoe! — while trying to navigate her way through throngs of admirers who were camped outside the hotspot. The 22-year-old actress appeared to be unharmed and quickly rose to her feet and went inside.
Two days later, Lawrence braved the cold and rain when she walked the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards. The first-time nominee, who dazzled in a Christian Dior dress and Chopard jewelry, told the British press she was “excited” and “nervous” about her appearance. She also estimated that she had a “zero out of 10” shot at beating fellow Best Actress in a Leading Role nominees Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone), Helen Mirren (Hitchcock) and Emmanuelle Riva (Amour).
“The nominees make me feel so cool just for being nominated,” Lawrence explained. “I’m okay with that for tonight.”
Lawrence — whose role in the dramedy has already earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe Award — lost to French actress Riva, 85. Even so, the recently single star was elated to be a part of Silver Linings Playbook.
“I’ve always wanted to work with [director] David O. Russell and I read the script and I just fell in love with [my character] Tiffany. She just has this hilarious attitude. David, the way that he writes — I just love his writing and how all of his characters kind of have their own story,” Nicholas Hoult‘s ex-girlfriend said. “We weren’t sure how audiences would respond, so on top of being incredibly excited, we’re very relieved that it’s gotten the response that it has.”
