Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon filed for divorce from estranged wife Shyann McCant amid infidelity allegations made by her mother, Mama June Shannon.
According to documents exclusively obtained by Us, Jessica, 29, filed her divorce petition in Georgia on July 24, listing the pair’s date of separation as June 1. The papers were signed on July 17. Jessica further alleged their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
No alimony is listed under the settlement agreement. The pair have no marital property to separate and no debts. Jessica also wants to restore her maiden name to Shannon.
Jessica and Shyann, 23, were married in September 2025 and later filmed a separate ceremony for WE tv’s Mama June: Family Crisis. In June, Jessica shocked fans by revealing that she’d split from Shyann only eight months after their TV nuptials aired.
“As most of y’all can tell, me and Shyann are no longer together,” Jessica announced in a Facebook message on June 2, where her ex was tagged. “We mutually decided that it was the best decision for both of us.”
At the time, Jessica encouraged her followers not to speculate on the cause of the end of her marriage.
“Yes, we are still friends, and yes, we are both cordial with each other, but we are no longer in a relationship,” she wrote. “We kindly ask that everyone be respectful during this time. Please don’t send hate or negativity to either of us. This is already a difficult situation, and mean comments or unnecessary drama won’t make it any easier.”
Mama June recently ignited more drama over her daughter’s separation when she publicly alleged that Shyann cheated on Jessica.
“Well since I’m always to b the blame for every relationships not working out and since it was shared publicly and yall have been wanting to see who Shyann cheated with and left Jessica for here you go McKenzie is in the middle of them in the red shirt,” she wrote via Instagram on July 21 alongside a photo of Shyann with a group of people. “Yall are welcome so everyone can stop digging now #reality #cheater #mamajune #divorce #SpillTheTea.”

Shyann initially responded by sharing a photo of herself with her new girlfriend, Mackenzie, and insisting she “wasn’t happy” in her marriage.
“I expressed how I felt repeatedly, including that issues involving her mother were a big reason I wanted out,” she wrote on July 21. “Nothing changed, and despite asking for a divorce more than once, it wasn’t happening. That doesn’t make what I did right, and I take full responsibility for my actions.”
Amid mounting speculation about the demise of her marriage, Shyann confessed in a second post that she “cheated.”
“I take full responsibility for [cheating],” she insisted. “I’m not making excuses, and I’m not trying to change what happened. I’m also not saying I wish none of this had been posted. I understand that when I post parts of my life, I’m opening the door for people to have opinions.”
Shyann went on, “What I am saying is that not every detail needed to be made public — especially by someone who wasn’t involved in the situation. There are people and children affected by all of this, and some things should have been handled privately out of respect for everyone involved. I’ve owned my mistakes. That’s all I can do. For those of y’all going onto other people’s posts just to comment about Mackenzie, that’s completely uncalled for. If you want to come after me, that’s your choice. I’ve already admitted what I did and I’ve taken responsibility for it. But leave her out of it.”
She encouraged people sending online abuse to Mackenzie to consider that everyone has “made mistakes” and “we’ve all got a past.”
“Yes, me and Mackenzie were together before. And yes, while we weren’t together and I was with Jessie, Mackenzie had children with her wife at the time,” she clarified. “We all have history. The past is the past. Bringing up old situations and attacking someone who doesn’t deserve it isn’t helping anybody. If you’ve got something to say, say it to me — not to her.”
That same day, Jessica weighed in on the controversy, claiming that it was “time to tell [her] side.”
“Yes, I knew Shyann and Mackenzie are together. Do I care? Honestly, no. Was the way everything happened crazy? Sure. Was I hurt at first? Absolutely,” she admitted. “But that’s in the past. At the end of the day, all I want is for everyone to be happy.”
She continued, “I’m cool with both of them because the only thing that truly matters to me is [Shyann’s] little girl. As long as she’s happy, loved, well taken care of, and I get to watch her grow into an amazing young woman, that’s all I care about.”
“So yes, I knew. No, I don’t care. And no, I don’t care about anyone else’s opinions either,” Jessica concluded. “My focus will always be on that little girl and making sure she has the best life possible.”
