Is this chicken or fish? Jessica Simpson is not a fan of her reality TV past. The fashion mogul and mom of two briefly (as in, in six words) shared how she would feel about watching MTV's Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica all over again.
"I would have a panic attack," Simpson, 35, told Page Six on Thursday, Sept. 10.
Back in May, Simpson told Entertainment Tonight that she would never document her personal life for TV again. However, she did feel "blessed" that she got the opportunity. "It allowed people to come into my life, and to know me as a person, and I owe a lot of my support," she said at the time. "My fans came from that because people could relate to me."
Simpson starred in the series with her then-husband, Nick Lachey, from 2003 to 2005. The three seasons gave an inside look at their romance, relationships with extended family, and Simpson's, um, dirty laundry. The most famous scene, of course, involved Simpson's confusion between chicken and tuna.
"I know it's tuna, but it says Chicken of the Sea. Is that stupid?" Simpson asked the former boybander during the memorable dinner. "Why is it called Chicken of the Sea?"
"You know," Lachey said, grinning. "A lot of people eat tuna and a lot of people eat chicken, so, it's like, Chicken of the Sea."
Simpson and Lachey's reality show fairy tale eventually ended when they divorced in 2006 after four years of marriage. As exclusively revealed Thursday, Simpson told CNBC's Closing Bell that marrying Lachey, 41, was one of her "biggest money mistakes." (Simpson also starred in VH1's The Price of Beauty in 2010.)
The “Irresistible" singer went on to marry former NFL player Eric Johnson, with whom she shares daughter Maxwell, 3, and son Ace, 2. Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo tied the knot in 2011 and are proud parents of son Camden, 2, and 8-month-old daughter Brooklyn.
