What a difference a year makes! Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard had their very first kiss one year ago, and over Father’s Day weekend, the couple (parents to Israel David, 2 months) marked another special occasion: their wedding anniversary.
Marking the occasion of their June 21, 2014 wedding on Instagram, the duo wrote sappy love notes to each other on social media. “Happy anniversary to the man of my dreams!” Duggar mused in a post on Sunday, the same day that her husband celebrated his very first Father’s Day. “I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I had the privilege of saying ‘I do!’ The longer I’m married to you the more I fall in love, and realize how incredibly blessed I am to have you as my hubby. I’ll love you forever!”
Dillard, 26, was equally smitten when reflecting on their trip down the aisle. Posting a wedding photo from their Springdale, Ark., ceremony, Dillard said 2014 was the “best year of his life.”
“I am beyond grateful to God to have the privilege of serving our Lord and Savior with you for the rest of my life,” he wrote. “You are an amazing woman, wife, and mother. My love for you grows every day.”
Over the weekend, the couple joined 24-year-old Duggar’s sister Jessa Duggar, and her husband Ben Seewald, for Ohio’s ALIVE Christian Music festival. Hitting the road with Jill and Derick’s son in tow, the couples’ trip was their first public appearance since they spoke out about brother Josh Duggar‘s molestation scandal.
