Jimmy Kimmel took it upon himself to give President Donald Trump a proper roast in a new monologue before the upcoming White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Kimmel, 58, pointed out during the Thursday, April 23, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is breaking tradition by not having a comedian as its host. Instead, the WHCA chose mentalist and author Oz Pearlman to headline as the entertainer.

“Our president is a delicate snowflake with the thinnest fat skin of any human being ever, and that means there’s going to be no comedian this year,” Kimmel explained.

Taking inspiration from Kid Rock‘s “alternative” Super Bowl halftime show, Kimmel then offered to “do some of the jokes a comedian might do if our president wasn’t a trembling drama queen.” He issued a message directly to Trump, 79, saying, “Don’t worry, if we bruise your ego, it’ll only make your hands look less disgusting.”

The late night talk show host went on to deliver a lengthy roast that included a reference to his hush-money trial in 2024.

“The president didn’t want me to tell any jokes about him tonight, but he also didn’t want to pay me $130,000 to shut up, so here we are,” he said. “Sorry, Mushroom d***.”

Kimmel made reference to Trump’s family before calling him out on policy.

“President Trump has accomplished so much during his second term,” Kimmel said. “He passed new incentives for oil and gas. He put the brakes on solar and wind. That will be your legacy, sir: breaking wind and passing gas.”

Elsewhere in the roast, Kimmel questioned Trump’s supposed connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

“Before we go any further: Melania, this is Donald. Donald, this is Melania,” he said, teasing, “That was my impression of Jeffrey Epstein.”

Melania, 55, recently addressed speculation about her own ties to Epstein, who died by suicide in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

“[The rumors] with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today,” she said in a press conference earlier this month. “The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.”

Melania further claimed that she had “never been friends” with Epstein, noting that she and her husband “were invited to many of the same parties” as the disgraced financier due to their “overlapping” social circles.

“To be clear, I never had a relationship with Epstein or his accomplice [Ghislaine] Maxwell,” she insisted.

Kimmel previously shared his thoughts on her statement during the April 9 episode of his show.

“[Trump] didn’t know she was going to do it before she did it, which shows you just how smoothly things are running over there,” Kimmel said. “For whatever reason, she didn’t ask [her husband].”

He concluded: “She didn’t give him a heads up. She just went right out in front of the cameras and fired away.”
