Jodie Sweetin and husband Mescal Wasilewski don’t share a bed — and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“My husband is the lightest, worst sleeper. … It takes me a minute to go out, and once I’m out, [I’m] dead to the world,” the Full House alum, 44, explained during the Monday, August 24, episode of the “Good Guys” podcast. “There could be bombs going off and nothing. [In his case], a mouse whispers downstairs, and he’s like, ‘Oh my God, I heard it.’ So I do think that there’s situations like that where it’s like, it’s a nightmare sometimes to sleep with someone else next to you.”
The solution to their differing sleep habits? Separate beds pushed together.
“We have … two twin beds pushed up against each other in a king-size thing with two separate duvets,” Sweetin continued. “That is key because you’re not fighting over the blanket. I’m telling you, that is the smallest, biggest difference. Like, I can roll over and wrap myself up like a burrito; he can do whatever, and we’re not fighting over it in the middle of the night. So no one wakes up angry that they’re cold.”
Sweetin and Wasilewski, 56, tied the knot in July 2022 after five years of dating. Elsewhere in Monday’s podcast episode, the actress explained that she and her husband are “very independent people,” noting that he “goes and does his thing” for work, while she’ll “go travel and do something.”
“Our dream goal sort of thing is to own property somewhere, and I want a few little tiny homes on it,” she shared. “He gets his tiny home, I get my tiny home, and then there’s the middle one.”
Sweetin also joked that she’s learned to enjoy her own space after being “married four times.” The Fuller House alum was previously married to Shaun Holguin from 2002 to 2006, Cody Herpin from 2007 to 2010 and Morty Coyle from 2012 to 2016. She shares daughter Zoie, 18, with Herpin, 49, and daughter Beatrix, 15, with Coyle, 57.
In 2024, Sweetin gushed about married life with Wasilewski exclusively to Us, sharing that the best part is “just getting to settle into the comfortable part of our relationship, just that knowing that somebody’s there when you’re home.” She also noted that she loves “enjoying the little things” with him, such as “going and walking in the evening to go get ice cream.”
“[I love] just those small bits of joy with someone who I consider to be my best friend, and he hasn’t even annoyed me yet,” she said at the time. “Like, we get along really well.”
