Police were called to investigate an incident involving Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel at an apartment in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, January 30.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers were called to the building at about 2 a.m. to investigate a possible assault. The caller was not at the residence upon their arrival, but police spoke to a 23-year-old woman who said she was involved in an incident earlier that night with her ex-boyfriend in Dallas.

“The preliminary investigation determined that a possible assault had occurred,” police said in a statement. “The complainant was uncooperative with officers on scene, and they were unable to locate a crime scene within the Fort Worth jurisdiction, however, our officers prepared a report nonetheless, and that information was forwarded to detectives for further investigation.”

The woman also told officers that she was concerned about her ex-boyfriend’s well-being. After several attempts to locate and contact him, the officers later determined that he was “safe and in no danger.”

In February 2015, Manziel, 23, checked into a rehab program to work on improving himself after he became known more for his partying than his NFL career. In October, he was pulled over for a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, after an eyewitness allegedly saw him with his arm around her neck.

At this time, it is unclear whether Crowley, 23, was the woman involved in the Fort Worth incident.
