Party in the alley! Aspiring DJ Jon Gosselin brought his newly honed skills to Laurel Lanes’ Brewsters Pub in Maple Shade, N.J., where he played a set for a near-empty dance floor.

TMZ published a video of the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 reality star spinning on a platform, with one lone dancer rocking out to his set list. The bowling alley’s marketing manager Justin Borstad tells Us Weekly that while it appeared to be a sparsely attended gig, Gosselin fans were present — they were just over at the bar.

“His appearance was a great time,” Borstad notes to Us. “We had many people inside the bar, just none that wanted to dance.” Gosselin played several upbeat tunes from pop stars like Rihanna and Iggy Azalea. He also played a remix of Taylor Swift‘s smash single, “Blank Space.” TMZ footage showed the dad of eight transitioning seamlessly from one song to the next.

“Do not be fooled,” Borstad tells Us. “He was a good DJ.”

A similar note was shared on Laurel Lanes’ Facebook page on Tuesday, Mar. 3. “Though we did have a dance floor set up, the crowd was populated at the bar,” the update read of Gosselin’s performance. “We had a good 75-100 people show up throughout the evening and the music was very enjoyable. Good vibes all throughout.”

Gosselin’s latest career move comes after several setbacks in the last year. Last fall, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that the former TLC star — dad to twins Cara and Mady, 14, and 10-year-old sextuplets, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel — had been evicted from his home in rural Pa., after he was unable to make rent. Previously, the reality star was employed by a credit card company, but the insider told Us that the office job only “lasted a few months.”

Later, Gosselin owned up to his failures, telling Extra in November: “The truth is I made some poor financial decisions, but I am living in a home. I’ve got to figure out who I am. Being a father, devoting my time toward my kids…”

As for his relationship with his scene-stealing ex-wife Kate Gosselin? “There is no real relationship, like we don’t talk,” he said of his interaction with Kate, whom he divorced in 2009. “[Co-parenting is] just not working at this point in time.”

Kate echoed similar sentiments to Us Weekly and other reporters at the TCAs for Celebrity Apprentice 7 in January. “I don’t have [a relationship with Jon anymore],” she told Us. “I give the kids… some of the kids visit and some don’t and I keep the peace… I wish that things were better for the kids.”
