Squad goals! Julia Roberts didn’t need to give her BFF George Clooney her approval when it came to marrying Amal Alamuddin — because they were destined to all be pals.
After making her final appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday, May 13, the Notting Hill star dished to Extra’s AJ Calloway about meeting Clooney’s wife, with whom she hit it off with after meeting at a recent dinner.
“We went out to dinner. I met her at dinner,” said Roberts, who just wrapped Money Monster with Clooney of meeting the chic human rights lawyer. “George doesn’t need my approval, but I’m quite enamored with her,” Roberts added, confirming she’s now friends with Alamuddin.
The Pretty Woman alum is also fond of her and Clooney’s Money Monster costar Jodie Foster.
“George and I were pinching each other,” Roberts recalled of working with the fellow Oscar winner. “Like, ‘How did we end up with this brainiac girl?’ It was awesome!”
Clooney, meanwhile, appears to be more in love than ever with his wife, whom he married in Italy in September 2014. "She's an amazing human being and she's caring," he told Entertainment Tonight on May 8. “She also happens to be one of the smartest people I've ever met. And she's got a great sense of humor. There's a number of reasons why [I fell in love]."
Swoon!
