Julia Roberts' half-sister, Nancy Motes, was apparently struggling before her death on Sunday, Feb. 9. The August: Osage County star's younger sibling left a suicide note at the L.A. residence where her body was discovered, the coroner's office confirmed to Us Weekly.

A spokesperson from the Office of the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner said they had "confirmed that there were [suicide] notes" on site. "All we're saying at this point was that there was a note found," the rep told Us.

As previously reported, Motes was found dead in a bathtub on Sunday afternoon. "There were prescription and nonprescription drugs found at the scene," Lieutenant Fred Corral of the L.A. Coroner's Office explained on Monday, Feb. 10. "The role the drugs may or may not have played is not yet known."

"She's being examined today," Corral noted. "The investigator at the scene listed at this point that he is going with suicide, and we are waiting for the doctor to finish the examination."

A spokesperson added Tuesday that the autopsy had been completed. However, toxicology results are still pending; it could take up to 10 weeks to get that report.

In a statement on Feb. 10, the family said they were "both shocked and devastated."
