Reaching out. Justin Bieber's mom, Pattie Mallette, reassured the singer's fans over the weekend that her son wished her a Happy Mother's Day.
"Yes @justinbieber was a good boy and called to wish me Happy Mother's Day!" Mallette, 40, tweeted on Sunday, May 8. "I love that y'all are so concerned!! xoxo."
Bieber, 22, read the tweet and replied with a smiley face.
The "What Do You Mean?" singer did one better, too. Bieber also gave his mom a shout-out during his concert at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. He asked the audience to scream "Aloha, Pattie!" and he blew a kiss into the camera. (Mallette currently lives in Hawaii.)

"Awwwwe!!! Thanks @justinbieber," Mallette captioned the video via Twitter on Monday. "I love you so much that was so sweet! ALOHA EVERYONE! Xoxo."

The sweet exchange may come as a surprise to some. Back in 2015, Bieber admitted that his once-close relationship with Mallette was "pretty non-existing."
"I was distant because I was ashamed. I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was," he told Billboard at the time. "We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust. She’s living in Hawaii now, so it’s hard, but getting better. She’s an amazing woman and I love her."
Bieber also spoke out about the pair's estrangement to GQ. "I’m a lot closer to my dad [Jeremy Bieber] than I am to my mom," he told the mag. "[I don't] see her as much as I’d like to."
