Imma let you finish… for real this time! Kanye West and Taylor Swift formally buried the hatchet onstage (for the gazillionth time!) on Sunday, Aug. 30, as he accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
The "Wildest Dreams" songstress, 25, presented the awards show's highest honor to her former nemesis, reflecting back on their special moment from 2009, when he rushed the stage and interrupted her acceptance speech.
"I first met Kanye West six years ago, at this show actually!" Swift joked. "Since then, it seemed like everybody in the world knew about our infamous encounter at the VMAs." She then recalled West's profound influence on her childhood.
"Kanye West's album The College Dropout was the very first album my brother and I ever bought when I was 12 years old… I have been a fan of his since I can remember because Kanye defines what it is to be a creative force in music, fashion, and well, life,” Swift dished. She then hilariously reiterated the moment when West stormed the stage.
“I’m really happy for you and Imma let you finish," Swift said, addressing the night's other VMA winners. "But Kanye has had one of the greatest careers of all time!”
The 1989 hitmaker concluded by saying she was "honored" to present her "friend" West with the Video Vanguard Award.
Meanwhile, the rapper and his wife, Kim Kardashian, grinned from the audience before he took to the stage to deliver a completely bizarre speech that culminated in his supposed plans for a 2020 presidential run.
