Karlie Kloss is addressing her connection to the Trump family through her marriage to husband Joshua Kushner.

“Well, I know who I am,” the model, 33, said in a Wednesday, July 1, interview with Bloomberg Originals. “I know the values that guide my life and the issues that I care about. So, you know, I haven’t lost sight of who I am, but also, it’s my husband’s family.”

Joshua, who wed Kloss in 2018, is the younger brother of Jared Kushner, son-in-law and former senior advisor to President Donald Trump. (Jared, who now serves as Special Envoy for Peace in Trump’s second administration, has been married to Donald’s daughter Ivanka Trump since 2009.)

“I have never met President Trump,” Kloss added.

Kloss explained that while she does not agree with members of her in-law’s family politically, they are able to come together despite their differences.

“Since as long as I can remember, I’ve always been exposed to a lot of different political points of view, and I think that trained me for my life. You know, I’m a Democrat,” she reflected. “I think it’s possible to have relationships with people who you politically don’t align with. And I think this country has always been a place for dialogue. We have to be able to talk to each other.”

Kloss also opened up about her decision to convert to Judaism for her husband.

“I fell in love with somebody whose faith was a huge part of who he is,” she told the outlet. “And I knew that from the start and choosing that I wanted that in my life. I’m really proud of that choice.”

Since exchanging their vows, Kloss and Joshua have welcomed three children: sons Levi, 5, and Elijah,3, as well as daughter Rae, 9 months. Kloss previously opened up about how grateful she was to have Joshua by her side throughout the couple’s major milestones.

“We’ve been together since I was 19. We’ve grown up together. He’s always been my biggest champion, especially in this adjustment into motherhood,” she gushed of Joshua during a May 2025 appearance on the “Aspire” podcast. “He’s been somebody who’s like, ‘Karlie, you cannot lose yourself. You will not be happy and then our children will feel that.’”

Kloss added that connecting with Joshua early in life helped them establish a strong foundation.

“Because we met so young, we’ve been through so much together and really grown together,” she explained. “I think that’s also part of why our partnership is so solid.”
