Helping hand! Steve Neild, who famously served as a bodyguard (and rumored fling) for Kate Gosselin, continued his relationship with TLC’s biggest stars this past weekend when he spent time at Josh Duggar’s house.
Neild was on hand at the disgraced 19 Kids and Counting star’s Oxon Hill, Md. home, which he recently listed for rental. While Neild will not be serving as full-time security for Duggar, 27, and his wife and three children, he was at the family’s aid as they prepared for the moving trucks.
The bodyguard regularly travels with Gosselin, 40, following her epic 2009 split from ex-husband Jon Gosselin, even providing her with security while filming Celebrity Apprentice. Neild, who was a rumored fling for Gosselin, since left the star’s side to help out her fellow TLC cohort.
Duggar’s change of residence falls in the midst of a rough time for the reality star and his relatives. TLC has yet to announce a decision on the future of 19 Kids and Counting after news broke that Duggar molested young girls, including two of his little sisters, when he was a teenager.
The eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar‘s children, Josh lives the farthest away of any of his siblings from the family’s home base in Tontitown, Ark. The father of three may be relocating closer to his parents, who have publicly defended him in the wake of the scandal.
Jim Bob and Michelle gave a talked-about interview to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Wednesday, June 3, in which they questioned the procurement of the police documents that detailed the abuses and stood by Josh, as well as their own handling of the molestation.
“At this point our family is just trying to regroup from these attacks,” Jim Bob said in the interview, when asked whether TLC will cancel the reality show. “I don’t know if the rest of our family should be punished for the act of one of our children — something that happened 12 years ago — or not, but you know, we are fine whether they film us or not. We’re going to live life and we’re going to go on and serve God.”
