With Prince William at her side, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton got very into the action at Wimbledon on July 2

Kate Middleton‘s got her game face on! Or, rather, her game faces, plural. Sitting beside her husband, Prince William, at the Wimbledon Championships in London on Wednesday, July 2, the Duchess of Cambridge, 32, was hilariously expressive and enthusiastic.

The typically reserved royal—chic as ever in a summery eyelet frock by Zimmermann, the same dress she debuted at the Royal Easter Show during her tour of New Zealand and Australia in April—was wonderfully animated as she cheered on Scottish tennis star Andy Murray. Her funny expressions were almost as entertaining as the match itself!

One only needs to look at the Duchess’ face to get a feel for the action on the court. At one point during the afternoon, her jaw literally dropped, and Prince William covered his head with his hands. She was also photographed grimacing, biting her lip, and laughing.

Murray, 27, had been on a 17-match winning streak at Wimbledon, but lost to Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals. It’s the first time since 2008 that he has failed to make the Grand Slam semi-final.

Middleton—a former athlete who played field hockey at St. Andrews—is an avid tennis fan, and has attended several past Wimbledon matches before. Her sister Pippa, 30, and brother James, 27, were also photographed in the Royal Box recently, bonding with Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery during a match on June 26.

Pippa opened up about her relationship with her big sister in an interview with the Today show’s Matt Lauer earlier this week. “We have a very normal sisterly relationship,” she said. “We’re very close. We support each other and get each other’s opinions on things.”

She also spoke about her nephew, Prince George, who—like his mom—is very expressive, even at 11 months old. “He’s amazing. He’s a very, very dear boy. And he’s brought a lot of pleasure and fun for all of us, the whole family,” she gushed. “He’s very characterful…very funny.”
