When Kathy Griffin visits The View, it’s safe to say she would prefer not to see a few former cohosts at the table.
“I love all the girls. This is an easy panel,” Griffin, 65, shared in a YouTube video on Tuesday, April 28, when addressing her recent appearance on ABC’s daytime talk show. “When they had [Elisabeth] Hasselbeck, I had to put up with her stupid or indignant stupidity, which is kind of the most amusing.”
Kathy had the opportunity to visit The View on Friday, April 24, to promote her new comedy tour. Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin served as cohosts for the day.
One person Kathy was seemingly thrilled not to see was Meghan McCain, who left the show in 2021.
“Have I been on with Meghan McCain, or does she just come after me? I can’t remember, but she’s an annoying c***,” Kathy claimed when bringing up the former cohost. “Other than that, fun at a party, I’m sure. I just love to go for her because she takes the bait every time. And now she’s gonna do a post about how I’m not a feminist. And that’s how this works, Meghan. One of these days you’ll pick it up.”
Us Weekly has reached out to McCain’s team for comment. At the beginning of her YouTube upload, Kathy displayed a statement that said, “This video is intended for entertainment purposes only. All claims are alleged.”
One person Kathy was prepared to poke fun at during her latest visit to the Hot Topics table was Alyssa, 36.
Before becoming a cohost of The View, Alyssa served as the White House director of strategic communications in 2020 during Donald Trump’s first presidential term. The job title, Kathy said, gave her some possible material to work with.
“Just so you know Alyssa, in my mind, I was going to go for you because of course when you were the press secretary for Trump, I didn’t always see eye to eye with your presentation,” Kathy said when accidentally getting her job title wrong. “But just as I was about to get all my Alyssa jokes in a row, somebody goes, ‘She had a baby yesterday.’”
Alyssa and her husband, Justin Griffin, welcomed a baby boy in February. The CNN commentator enjoyed maternity leave before returning to The View on April 13.
“She turned out to be the nicest one at the table,” Kathy continued. “I have to remember I’ve always had lots of Republican friends and it will always be that way even though I’m a big ol’ lefty.”
