Cool cats! Katie Holmes took her daughter, Suri Cruise, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, to see the Broadway revival of Cats on Wednesday, August 17. Close friend Zac Posen and two of Suri’s pals also tagged along for the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, which opened late last month.
The group went backstage at NYC’s Neil Simon Theatre to meet the show’s star, Leona Lewis. The singer was in her full cat costume with a furry coat and intense face paint as she chatted with Suri and her friends.
The 10-year-old had a huge smile on her face and looked so grown up in a light pink dress and pigtails as other Cats cast members watched in the background.
Suri seems to be having a fun summer exploring NYC with her mom. Earlier this month, the tween posed for pics backstage at Finding Neverland with her maternal grandmother and two of her cousins. Holmes has also shared Instagram snaps from several adventurous outings, including a trip to the Museum of Modern Art and a stop at Serendipity restaurant for its famous frozen hot chocolate.
As Us Weekly exclusively reported this week, Suri reportedly hasn’t seen her dad in “about three years,” according to multiple sources.
“Tom hasn’t seen or even called Suri in about three years,” claims a family insider. Another source alleges, “Tom has no relationship with Suri.”
The last time Cruise, 54, and his little girl were photographed together in public was at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, in August 2012.
Cruise and Holmes welcomed Suri in April 2006, and tied the knot at a lavish Italian wedding in November of the same year. Six years later, Holmes filed for divorce from the actor.
