Getting political! Katy Perry dressed up as Hillary Clinton for Kate Hudson’s Halloween party in Hollywood on Friday, October 28, while her beau Orlando Bloom got creative as an oversize Donald Trump.
The 32-year-old pop superstar pulled out all the stops to transform herself into the Democratic presidential candidate, including a cropped blonde wig, prosthetics to change her face shape and a more demure wardrobe.
“Having a little pre party before I take office,” she captioned an impressive Instagram post of herself getting done up for the big night. “#IMWITHME Cheer to @svedkavodka #howtosvedka @hillaryclinton 🍸✨.”
In the photo, Perry-as-Clinton sips from a martini glass as several makeup artists fuss around her.
Upon her arrival at Hudson’s bash, which was also attended by Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie, Perry donned a bright red pantsuit and pointed out at the waiting photographers in a gesture characteristic of the presidential nominee.
The “Roar” songstress held the hand of a pal, CAA agent Michael Kives (who is a major fundraiser for Clinton’s presidential campaign), dressed as Bill Clinton for much of the night. (The man was previously believed to be Perry’s beau Bloom in disguise, but the Lord of the Rings actor instead dressed up in an over-the-top costume as Trump.)
Bloom, 39, wore a large bright red wig, a red “Make America Great Again” baseball cap and cartoonish hands and a mask in a clear nod toward the Republican presidential nominee. The threesome were flanked by friends dressed up as Secret Service agents.
“It took about five hours in hair and makeup for Katy and Michael to make their Hillary and Bill transformations,” a source tells Us Weekly. “They had an entourage of six Secret Service agents, which included Sarah Hudson, who is Kate Hudson’s cousin, and Ferras, who opens for Katy on tour.
“Upon arriving at the party, no one knew it was Katy and Michael,” the source adds. “They immediately went to the dance floor to start dancing and were obviously a huge hit among the crowd.” The source adds that it was host Hudson who realized it was her agent, Kives, and Perry under all that makeup.
Perry has been a staunch supporter of Clinton, 69, throughout the election season, campaigning for the former secretary of state and even going nude in a Funny or Die skit to help promote awareness about the upcoming election.
