Better than they’ve ever been. Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett hit another milestone in their relationship this week when they celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary on Monday, June 27. In honor of the big day, the former Playboy model posted a sweet photo of the couple on Instagram.
“On our anniversary today I’m just thinking how far we’ve come,” Wilkinson, 31, captioned the pic. “I remember playin a love trivia game at a lovers resort in the Poconos and they asked how long have you been married? Everyone was like 30years, they look at us n we laugh so hard n yell dating 7 months. Now it’s 7 years, just like that.”
Wilkinson and the former NFL player, 33, who married in 2009, have experienced some notable rough patches along the way. Back in 2014, Baskett allegedly cheated on Wilkinson (then pregnant with her second child) with a transgender model. (The couple are the parents of son Hank IV, 6, and daughter Alijah, 2.) The TV personality alluded to the troubling time on Monday.
“We’ve been through ups n downs but getting through those down and surviving them the way we did is rare these days. Our ups I can say is our strength. We are always up. LOL,” she continued via Instagram. “I’m so proud of us and what we stand for. Our kids will believe in love and forgiveness because of us showing them it’s possible. I love you @hank_baskett forever n ever…amen!! Happy 7 year anniversary @hank_baskett.”
The Girls Next Door alum and Baskett have been working on their marriage since the scandal. They appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars last year and have been honest about their progress.
“I learned that being husband and wife is just a label,” Wilkinson told Us Weekly at the season 5 premiere of Kendra on Top in West Hollywood in March. “It becomes, ‘Do you really care about the person, the human underneath the label?’ And I do, and I really do.”
She added: “That’s why I married him, to be partners through life, to be friends through life, to experience life together, not to have everything perfect.”
