To say that Kris Jenner had a big weekend would be an understatement. On Sunday, June 16, just one day after daughter Kim Kardashian gave birth to a baby girl, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians matriarch hit up not one but two major events: the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in Beverly Hills and Taj and Tayana Jackson's star-studded wedding at the Jackson family's Hayvenhurst home in Encino, Calif. (Taj is the oldest of Tito Jackson's three sons with late ex-wife Delores Martes.)
After presenting an award at the Daytime Emmys — where she gushed to Showbiz Tonight that her new granddaughter is "doing great and beautiful" — Jenner joined the party at Hayvenhurst. Rocking the same off-the-shoulder black dress she wore on the red carpet, the 57-year-old reality star made a beeline for Katherine Jackson, the mother of late pop icon Michael Jackson. A source tells Us Weekly the two sat together and chatted about Kim's new little bundle of joy, who arrived five weeks early on June 15.
"Kris was gushing over the baby," the insider says. "She said everyone is happy and healthy and the baby is so cute."
Jenner missed the actual wedding ceremony, but a source says it was "really beautiful" and included a moment of silence to honor those — like Michael Jackson and Taj's mom — who are no longer with them.
Several other Jacksons were in attendance, however, including Michael's sons Prince Michael and Blanket, sisters La Toya and Janet, and brothers Tito and Jermaine. (Noticeably absent was Michael's daughter Paris, who is still recovering from an alleged suicide attempt.)
"It was basically a Jackson reunion since there are so many of them," the insider tells Us, noting that Jermaine Jackson performed three songs at the nuptials. "It was all about the family."
