It's getting intense. An emotional Kris Jenner got candid — and weepy — while sitting down with her ex Caitlyn Jenner in the latest promo released for I Am Cait.
In the clip, the parents of Kendall, 19, and Kylie, 18, are seated in the living room of Caitlyn's Malibu home. "You're sensitive and amazing to all these new people in your life," Kris tells Caitlyn while fighting back tears. "But you're not so sensitive and amazing to the family that you left behind."
Caitlyn, fidgeting nervously with her hair, replies: "I try to do everything I can to be nice, reach out. You have to see it from my perspective… be an ally when it comes to dealing with the kids."
Overcome with emotion, the momager of six, 59, details the root of why it's been so difficult for her to fully accept Caitlyn. "When you feel like you gave your whole life to somebody," she says, "the sum of it all was you were a distraction."
A stern Caitlyn, 65, interjects and warns her ex not to "go there." The former Olympian continues: "This is not the issue. I was defending myself. It was a distraction from the sense of who I was. That doesn't mean that I didn't love you or the kids!"
As witnessed in the Sunday, Aug. 16, episode of I Am Cait, Caitlyn's world-famous stepdaughter Kim Kardashian took sides when the topic of Kris leaving the marriage was brought up. "If you're a woman now, [Kris] is not a lesbian," Kanye West's wife explained to Caitlyn. "She does not want to be with a woman. That is not fair to ask… You got the fame, but you're losing your family."
Like Kim, Khloe Kardashian also took up issues with Caitlyn and how she handled her transition. "We want to support you and be there for you," the youngest Kardashian daughter told Caitlyn. "We don't think that entails you speaking negatively about our mom… let's focus on the actual cause here, and let's not drag our mom through the mud." (Indeed, Kris' portrayal in Caitlyn's Vanity Fair cover story was none-too-flattering.)
While the dynamic appears to be tense between Caitlyn and Kris throughout the docuseries, the momager expressed support for her ex in her recent interview with Haute Living. “I just want everyone that I love in my family and in my life to be happy," she told the mag. "And so my wish for Caitlyn is that she finds her joy.”
