Lamar Odom Is “Doing Much Better Today” After Regaining Consciousness

This is great to hear. Lamar Odom’s condition is improving.

A source told Us Weekly on Saturday, Oct. 17, that "he's doing much better today." TMZ also reportedon Saturday that the former NBA star, who regained consciousness on Friday, Oct. 16, after spending three days in a coma, has been taken off a ventilator and is breathing on his own.

The former Los Angeles Laker was hospitalized on Tuesday, Oct. 13, after being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel following a weekend of heavy partying. His estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, rushed from L.A. to Las Vegas that night and the 35-year-old was in critical condition as his organs shut down and he needed help breathing and dialysis for his kidneys.

Us Weekly confirmed on Friday, Oct. 16, that Odom had regained consciousness. An insider told Us that “Lamar is doing well and opened his eyes this morning. He grabbed the doctor’s hand and his first word was ‘hello.’”

A source told Us exclusively on Saturday, Oct. 17, that Kardashian, 31, has been with Odom the entire time.

“Most people have been in a waiting room outside the room and will go in one at a time,” the source revealed. “Khloe has really been the only one in the room 24/7, sleeping by his bedside and keeping vigil.”

Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, also revealed to Access Hollywood on Friday that her daughter had only left Odom’s bedside once since Tuesday.

While Odom’s condition seems to be improving, a source also told Us, “The truth is, the doctors are still figuring out a lot right now.”
