No hard feelings. Liev Schreiber wished his ex Naomi Watts a happy birthday on Wednesday, September 28, just one day after they announced they’d called it quits.
Watts, who turned 48, posted a throwback photo to Instagram of herself in a pram with the caption: “Another birthday!! #eek But I think I’m younger than this #vintagestroller?? Not quite sure what’s happening here… #eek #70’s #photoop #oldschool #raisedbyartists.”
In the sepia-toned photo, baby Watts sits in a stroller that’s resting on the banks of a lake.
“Happy Birthday Sweetheart,” Schreiber commented on the post, sending Watts’ followers into a frenzy.
“Liev just left a birthday greeting,” one fan commented with the crying emoji, while another added: “I hope they get back together.”
The Oscar-nominated actress celebrated her birthday in New York City, where she’s been busy filming Gypsy. On Wednesday, she shared another Instagram photo of herself looking happy with a bunch of cake pops.
The couple of 11 years announced their decision to split via a statement to Us Weekly on Monday, September 26.
“Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship,” their statement read. “While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.”
The duo, who never married, are the parents of sons Alexander "Sasha,” 9, and Samuel, 7.
