Lo Bosworth Is ‘Still Healing’ After Giving Birth to 1st Baby, Shares Postpartum Wellness Routine (Exclusive)

The Hills alum Lo Bosworth is focusing on wellness five months after giving birth to her first baby.

“I’m really focused on trying to boost energy and feel strong and confident in my body, to be totally honest with you,” Bosworth, 39, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 24, while discussing her partnership with Hello during its “Summer of Yay” campaign. “The things that I’m focused on is getting a decent amount of steps every single day [and] drinking enough water.”

Bosworth and her husband, Dom Natale, welcomed daughter Nelle in January after undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). In addition to raising the newborn, Bosworth has prioritized her recovery.

“I got this tiny trampoline that I’m doing, like, three minutes bouncing on to help my lymphatic drainage,” she told Us. “My lymphatic massage therapist [told me], like, ‘You need to move your body up and down to get the lymph going.’ I’m still in healing mode to a certain degree, and so getting lymph moving is a really important part of that.”

Bosworth, meanwhile, is admittedly “less focused” on beauty and skincare at the moment.

“For me, it is about the fundamental basics, like, literally brushing my teeth, literally putting on some lotion and deodorant, drinking enough water,” the reality TV star stated. “When you’re a mom, you kind of come second to a certain degree, and you really have to take advantage of that time to just take care of the absolute basics.”

She continued, “I’m still kind of healing, so doing that stuff every day is really important right now.”

In lieu of a postpartum skincare routine, Bosworth has implemented a “very dedicated” flossing ritual.

“Doing self care [regimens] makes me feel just focused and able to fall asleep, truly,” she said. “I have really leaned in hard. … Any mom can tell you that because you have less time, certain things just feel less important, or they just get pushed to the back burner.”

Bosworth added, “I wish I could do glam, but I just don’t have the time and energy to do it, and so I have these other self-care tools that I can use, like, everything from Hello is focused on the beautiful packaging and really thoughtful ingredients, and it looks cute on your bathroom shelf.”

According to Bosworth, using Hello’s products in her daily routine helps her “feel good” postpartum.

“I love a brand like Hello because it makes the basics feel really special,” she said. “I am somebody that loves to do self-care, and I’m not in the place yet where I focused on beauty, and so the simple thing like [my] oral care routine has popped off.”

Hello’s “Summer of Yay” campaign is all about celebrating the small moments of summer before the season slips away, which for Bosworth revolves around spending time with her 6-month-old baby girl.

“It’s my first summer as a mom, and that in and of itself is really, really special,” she gushed on Wednesday. “I’m really craving the type of summers that we grew up having, like in the ‘90s and in the 2000s, the ones that really feel light and carefree, where you’re just like out all day long, you’re up for anything. But, as a mom, I have to be much more focused about my schedule and bottles and nap time, and so for me the self-care moments that I’m focused on during the summer are really turning into those special little rituals that really give me a little bit of time for myself.”
