Love Island USA season 8 star Kenzie Annis was discharged from the hospital just hours before her New York Fashion Week debut.
“I did just get out of the hospital this morning,” Kenzie, 24, told People on Thursday, October 10, at the Alice + Olivia presentation during 2026 NYFW, noting she had a “very, very painful” ovarian cyst removed.
According to Kenzie, she was admitted to a local hospital shortly after arriving in New York City.
“I was so excited for Fashion Week, and I got here on Monday. I got off the flight and then was rushed in an ambulance to the closest hospital,” she recalled. “I wanted to make it here so bad because this is my first fashion show ever, and I’m on some pain medication, so I’m hoping that gets me through.”
The next day, Kenzie revealed via Instagram that she felt “extra thankful for [her] health” as she focused on healing and recovering.
“I recently had to have an ovarian cyst removed from my left ovary. The cyst was 11 cm and ended up rupturing while I was on a flight from L.A. to New York for Fashion Week,” she wrote on Friday, September 11. “I was in an insane amount of pain and had to be rushed to the hospital as soon as I landed.”
She continued, “The craziest part is that I had absolutely no idea I even had an ovarian cyst, especially one that had gotten so large. I consider myself a very healthy person, which made this whole experience even more unexpected and scary.”
Kenzie further thanked the medical professionals at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for taking “amazing care of [her] during such a scary situation.”
“Every single person I encountered was so kind, comforting, and caring, and I’m beyond grateful for all of you,” the nursing graduate noted, also sharing her reasons for disclosing her health scare. “I wanted to share this because it was such a reminder of how important it is for us girls to stay on top of our health, get regular checkups, and most importantly, listen to our bodies. If something feels off, please don’t ignore it or brush it aside. You know your body better than anyone.”
Kenzie concluded, “I’m just feeling incredibly blessed and thankful that they found it and were able to remove it before anything more serious could happen.”
Kenzie appeared on Love Island USA season 8 earlier this summer, meeting now-boyfriend Dylan Wrona at the Fiji villa.
“Getting to know you in the villa was unforgettable, but falling for you in the real world was all too easy,” Dylan, 24, wrote via Instagram in July. “It didn’t take me long to realize there was no other way; I had to make you my girlfriend! And what better place to do it than on the top of NYC ❤️❤️❤️. I’m so excited for all the memories we are going to make.”
