Muse frontman Matt Bellamy confirmed his new romance — with plenty of PDA — amid his ongoing divorce from estranged wife Elle Evans.
“New part time job,” Bellamy, 48, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, October 15, sharing several snaps at the Chicago bakery Cloud Cookie. “Boss is a tough cookie.”
In one photo, Bellamy kissed Cloud Cookie founder AnneMarie Morin inside the shop while she snapped a mirror selfie.
Morin, a 34-year-old influencer, reposted the PDA-filled image onto her Instagram Stories.
Neither Bellamy nor the content creator have further addressed their relationship status.
Us confirmed in August that the singer filed for divorce from Evans, 36, after six years of marriage. In the docs, Bellamy cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the split and requested sole custody of their children: Lovella, 6, and George, 2. (Bellamy also shares son Bingham, 15, with ex Kate Hudson.)
Speaking to TMZ at the time, Evans claimed that their divorce was “a long time coming,” noting she was planning to fight for custody of their kids.
Bellamy broke his silence on the pair’s separation during a June interview with The I Paper.
“It’s one of those situations that involves something that people wouldn’t normally think it is,” he told the outlet. “It was a set of really unexpected circumstances. It’s the kind of thing no one really prepares for in life. It threw me off, and I had to prioritize looking after the kids and creating stability at home.”
According to Bellamy, he channeled his emotions into Muse’s new album, The Wow! Signal.
“It was just, ‘Boom.’ It would just pour out of me,” he recalled. “It might have been the easiest album for me to make because it was such a catharsis. It became a lifeline for me.”
While Bellamy wrote The Wow! Signal amid “the depths of this life-changing experience,” he has since moved forward.
“‘Shimmering Scars’ is tricky [to listen to still]. I think ‘Space Debris’ is one of my most personal tunes, but it’s not all darkness,” he told the outlet. “[‘Nightshift Superstar’ is about] how me and my ex used to go to Burning Man and just dance all night long. The whole album isn’t just whining.”
Before his relationship with Evans, Bellamy dated Hudson, 47, from 2010 to 2014 when they called off their engagement. The exes have since remained committed to amicably coparenting their son. (Hudson also shares son Ryder, 22, with Chris Robinson, and daughter Rani, 8, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.)
“We’re so close,” Hudson said on the “How to Fail” podcast last year. “We weren’t right for each other and we tried really, really, really hard and instead of blaming or creating the argument or creating the problem, it was just like, ‘I don’t want to keep going down this path.’ It’s very easy for me because I’m an Aries and I like new things and I have the means to take care of my kids by myself but I want to find the right person, the right fit and sometimes you’re just not.”
