Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves enjoyed a family outing for a screening of his new movie.

The actor, 56, and his wife, 44, were in great spirits while joined by their three kids, Levi, 18, Vida, 16, and Livingston, 13, who were at the newly renamed Matthew McConaughey Cinema in Austin, Texas, to support their dad’s latest starring role in The Rivals of Amziah King on Monday, August 10.

Levi was almost as tall as his parents, donning a tan button-up with blue jeans, while his sister, Vida, who closely resembles her mom, opted for a silk black dress. The couple’s youngest child, Livingston, was clad in a powder blue suit with a white T-shirt paired with chain necklaces.

Matthew, for his part, looked suave in a navy suit with a white dress shirt while Camila brought her own style flair in a gray plaid suit with a brown hat.

The Oscar winner has a starring role in the indie film, which serves as his comeback to acting after a five-year hiatus from live-action productions.

“I chose this in place of other movies I could have done for a whole lot more money,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Monday, revealing he was instantly drawn to the project and his role as Amziah King, who is a honey farmer, born-again Christian and bluegrass musician. “I just saw him as a king of a man, a father, a shepherd, leader of misfits.”

“Ultimately, and I figured this out after shooting, he was a giver of belonging,” the star added. “Not that I choose roles philanthropically or anything, but I was like, ‘Man, the world could use some innocence, some love and some humor — and I could too. So let’s go do it.’”

Prior to this movie, Matthew appeared in The Lost Bus with his eldest son in 2025, marking Levi’s first feature film. “I said, ‘I can help coach you, I can help teach you what I can. But once we show up on the day, I’m not there as a safety net,’” Matthew explained on Today. “And he showed up.”

As for whether Levi will be following in his footsteps going forward, he added, “I’m not putting that pressure on him either way, but he’s off to a great start.”

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star noted, “He’s in the door. As far as nepotism goes for me, Camila and I always say, ‘Don’t you ever feel entitled.’”
