Grieving parents. On Wednesday, June 3, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar sat down with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly to talk about the aftermath of the shocking child molestation scandal involving their eldest son Josh Duggar.
In a new preview for the special, an emotional Michelle tries to walk Kelly through what it was like when her son confessed to his actions as a teen.
“There was so much grief in our hearts,” she says in the clip, as her husband nods. “I think as parents we felt, ‘We’re failures.’ Here we tried to raise our kids to do what’s right, to know what’s right and yet one of our children made some really bad choices, and I think as a parent we were really devastated.”
Since these disturbing details have come to light and Josh himself has publicly apologized, the family’s TLC series 19 Kids and Counting has been pulled from the air.
In a shocking new reveal, Fox News confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that two of Josh’s sisters Jill and Jessa Duggar were among the victims and would be interviewed during the special.
Both sisters are now married. Jill welcomed son Israel with her husband Derick Dillard in April, and Jessa and her husband Ben Seewald announced that they were expecting their first child in April.
Kelly’s interview with the Duggars will air on Fox News’ The Kelly File on Wednesday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET.
