A picture’s worth a thousand words. Miley Cyrus showed off a T-shirt with the word “Hemsworth” on the back of it in an obvious nod to her longtime love, Liam Hemsworth, on Sunday, June 19.
The 23-year-old “Wrecking Ball” singer and her 26-year-old beau have remained largely mum about the status of their relationship since reuniting last December (the pair were previously engaged in 2012, but called it quits one year later).
Cyrus’ post is a rare public acknowledgement of their rekindled relationship. Despite Hemsworth previously denying that their engagement was back on, Cyrus has frequently been spotted wearing her engagement ring and sources tell Us Weekly the pair have already been planning their beachside wedding.
During a late April trip to visit Hemsworth’s family in Australia, the couple were “discussing potential venues and looking around” Byron Bay, an insider tells Us.
“Miley’s mentioned she’s interested in having a bunch of bouncy houses,” a second source says. “Like at a carnival!”
Cyrus and Hemsworth first met in 2009 on the set of The Last Song, and started dating shortly afterward. The Hunger Games actor popped the question three years later, but the engagement ended in a breakup.
After they reuinted at the end of last year, the pop star even purchased a four-bedroom home in Malibu to share with Hemsworth, with the plan being that the Independence Day star will “move in permanently when he’s ready,” a source said.
“Miley and Liam are doing amazing,” another source told Us. “She seems so grounded and happy. Miley is texting [Liam’s sister-in-law] Elsa [Pataky] and other members of Liam’s family again. They’ve seemed to welcome her with open arms.”
Cyrus and Pataky, who is married to Liam’s brother Chris, even got matching tattoos with two pals back in April.
