Girls’ night out! Miranda Lambert and best gal pal Ashley Monroe were all dressed up and ready to go in an Instagram photo Monroe shared with fans on Thursday, Aug. 13.
“Date night,” she captioned the fun shot, in which she and Lambert, 31, smile cheek-to-cheek at the camera. The “Little Red Wagon” singer shared the fun snapshot not too long afterward.
“I feel like I’m on to something good,” Lambert wrote, referencing Monroe’s song “On to Something Good.”
The pair — who are part of the trio Pistol Annies with Angaleena Presley — performed together just last month during an intimate show at an East Nashville club on July 22. Monroe, who was promoting her new album, The Blade, ran through her set with Lambert cheering from the audience before the duo took the stage together for a rendition of Lambert’s “Heart Like Mine.”
“It means a lot to me that she’s even up on stage with me,” Monroe told Entertainment Tonight of the impromptu performance. “She’s a very brave person and I look up to her a lot for it.”
The surprise duet took place just days after Lambert and ex-husband Blake Shelton, 39, announced on July 20 that they had called it quits on their four-year marriage. Their divorce was finalized hours later.
“This is not the future we envisioned,” the country couple told Us in a statement at the time. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
