Glow, girl! After her recent divorce from Blake Shelton, a newly single and radiant Miranda Lambert performed Loretta Lynn‘s classic song about divorce, “Rated X,” at the ACM Honors on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
A beaming Lambert, 31, took to the stage at the country star-studded event in an electric pink Randi Rahm dress featuring sexy cutouts at her waist. The “Platinum” songstress styled her bright blonde bob on Tuesday with shaggy but chic loose waves, and highlighted her features with a smoky eye and mauve lip color.
“Rated X” tells the story about a woman who finds freedom in divorce, which Lambert herself experienced last month. Lyrics include: “Well if you’ve been a married woman and things didn’t seem to work out / Divorce is the key to bein’ loose and free so you’re gonna be talked about / Everybody knows that you’ve loved once so they think you’ll love again.”
Along with singing Lynn’s once-controversial hit from 1973, Lambert also presented the country legend with the Crystal Milestone Award to mark her 50-year career. “I’m so thankful for women empowerment,” she told the crowd as she and Lynn embraced onstage and backstage for photos.
Lambert also posed backstage for photos with fellow country superstar Luke Bryan, who remains close friends with her ex Shelton. Lambert and Shelton confirmed they were splitting after four years of marriage on July 20. That same day, the couple finalized their divorce.
While performing at a festival in Detroit Lakes, Minn., last month, Lambert joked that she was coping with alcohol. “I wish I’ve been drinking all day, I deserve it,” Lambert said on Aug. 7. “I just got divorced.”
