Does someone have a bottle opener? Miranda Lambert got personal with her fans while performing at WE Fest 2015 in Detroit Lakes, Minn., on Friday, Aug. 7. The country superstar brought up her split from Blake Shelton, joking that she was in need of some alcohol.
“I wish I’ve been drinking all day, I deserve it,” Lambert, 31, told the crowd. “I just got divorced.”
Concertgoers tweeted the quote in support of the “Little Red Wagon” singer, adding that they were either upset about the divorce and/or that they wouldn’t mind taking a shot with Lambert after the show. One fan also claimed that the star cried while performing “Over You.” (Lambert previously teared up during a July 18 show, just days before the pair announced their split.)
Us Weekly confirmed late last month that Lambert and Shelton, 39, had decided to call it quits after four years of marriage. They quickly finalized their divorce and divided their properties. The exes also deleted photos of each other from their Twitter accounts, but surprised fans when they exchanged funny tweets on July 24. They specifically supported friend Ashley Monroe’s new album and joked about a photo of Shelton pushing a baby stroller.
“This was not a deliberate plan to show some kind of unified front,” an insider exclusively told Us at the time. “There are no hard feelings. They want to move on as friends, and they are doing just that.”
