Brian Dietzen and Pauley Perrette pulled at NCIS fans’ heartstrings with a sweet reunion.
Dietzen, 48, shared a photo of him and Perrette, 57, posing together in a new photo shared via Instagram on Sunday, June 7. In the pic, Perrette, who played Abby Sciuto in the drama series, wrapped her arm around Dietzen and pointed up at him. She gave the camera a soft smile. Dietzen, who portrayed Dr. Jimmy Palmer, beamed while wrapping his arm around Perrette’s shoulder.
“Got to see @ellavos, @tinangelband and @cloverlin07 at @thehotelcafe and hang with @thepauleyp,” he captioned the post. “That’s two shows we saw together in a week! Music is the best. So are good friends.”
Fans were quick to show their excitement in the comments section.
“Awww!!! It’s wonderful to see you with Pauley 😍 Jimmy and Abby…..Please invite her to your podcast NCIS: Partners & Probies,” one wrote. Another added, “Omg love this so much!! So good to see Pauley 🫶🏼.” A third commented, “Miss you Pauley!!❤️.”
Perrette and Dietzen starred alongside each other on NCIS from 2003 until her departure at the end of season 15 in 2008. Dietzen, for his part, still plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer in the show, which is on its 23rd season.
After Perrette’s retirement from acting, she opened up to Hello! Magazine in 2024 about why she would “never” return to the profession.
“I’m a different person now and I want to be here for it,” Perrette said. “The good and the bad and the painful. I want to be me all the time, and it takes a good amount of courage for me to say that to myself but it’s authentically how I feel.”
She added, “At this point in my life I have this deep need to find authenticity in everything, and being an actor, especially at certain points in my life, was a great escape; it’s like a drug because I didn’t have to be me, I could be somebody else. My character didn’t have all of the problems that I was having.”
Now, Perrette “only” watches documentaries, because she wants “the truth.”
“For me, going back to being an actor would be taking away from this life of true authenticity that I’m living 100 percent of the time,” she said.
Perrette previously discussed her choice to leave Hollywood behind in 2020, telling fans, “I did my last dance & am proud of it! Everyone that knows me knew I was retiring right after. I’m proud of my work. I love you guys! I AM FREE!!! (To be the tiny little simple human I am!).”
