Yes, this is real life! Nick Cannon may have split from Mariah Carey, but that doesn’t mean he won’t pop in a DVD of Glitter from time to time. The America’s Got Talent host revealed that he seriously loves the singer’s 2001 flop during Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, Mar. 19.
“Awesome movie! Honest opinion. Great movie, even better soundtrack,” Cannon, 34, told host Andy Cohen during Plead the Fifth.
He added: “We have watched that movie together. I loved it so much more before I got married. She actually doesn’t like it like she told you.”
Carey played Billie Frank in the flick — a critical and commercial disaster which coincided with her nervous breakdown at the time — about an inspiring singer who falls in love with disc jockey Julian “Dice” Blac (Max Beesley). All of the glitz and glamour, however, didn’t save the movie from becoming a box office bomb.
Cannon and Carey separated in August 2014 after six years of marriage, with Cannon reportedly filing for divorce in January. The exes share 3-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. Back in October 2014, Carey sparked rumors that Cannon cheated while performing the song “Don’t Explain” in Tokyo.
“She changed the lyrics to ‘I know you cheated, mother effer,'” Cohen said to the actor-comedian. Cannon quipped back: “But weren’t those the lyrics already? She just added the ‘mother effer’ to it. Was I the mother effer? No, I don’t believe that was me.”
During WWHL, Cannon also revealed whether he has a sex tape with ex Kim Kardashian. Plus, he dished on the biggest misconception people have about Amber Rose, whom he’s managed since last year.
