Nicki Minaj Slams Haters Who Suggest Her “Ass” Is the Reason She’s Famous

Nicki Minaj

Haters to the left, please. Nicki Minaj was quick to stand up for herself on Friday, Dec. 11, after seeing a sexist tweet suggesting that her figure — specifically, her famous behind — is the sole reason for her success.

The “Anaconda” rapper, 33, became the topic of discussion after gossip site Bossip started a Twitter discussion about the lack of female rappers in the music industry. The trouble really began when the site’s Twitter account retweeted one user, who wrote, “Yep, men are visual creatures they don’t are if you can sing… That’s why nicki had to buy an ass to blow up! #Fact.”

Minaj took swift action, and took to Twitter to respond.

“I’ve gone toe to toe w/everyone of your favorite male MC’s,” she wrote. “To undermine my skill & diversity as an MC is actually comical @ this point.”

“If a male rapper was on tracks w/Wayne, Jay, Eminem, Kanye etc going ROUND 4 ROUND he’d b hailed as a GREAT as well,” she continued. “Jealousy is a disease…..Your greatest achievement in life will be attempting to undermine my greatest achievements in life. lol. Now check that.”

Bossip’s Twitter didn’t back down, however, and responded with a few sassy comments of their own, including a rebuttal with several of Minaj’s lyrics from “Monster,” off Jay Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne album.

“Somehow our extremely general question about women rappers has turned into a very specific @NICKIMINAJ conversation,” Bossip tweeted. “Gotta love this app… And she all up, all up, all up, all on on Twitter with the funny face… First things first, she ate our brains… Wow, our lil’ question had Nicki hotter than a Middle East climate, violent…”

Earlier in the week, Minaj was making headlines for a different reason. On Thursday, the rapper testified in a Philadelphia court hearing on behalf of her boyfriend, Meek Mill, telling the judge that “he’s not perfect, but I can’t believe how much he’s changed.”

Mill, 28, was convicted of gun possession and drug dealing in 2008. He was sentence to five years of probation in 2009 after serving eight months in jail. In 2014, he violated his probation when he was traveling for work and spent an additional six months in jail.
