Bravo alum Paige DeSorbo is setting the record straight about the viral rumors that she is engaged to her boyfriend, Joe D’Amelio.
“It was a transformational trip,” DeSorbo, 33, said on the Friday, July 17, episode of her “Giggly Squad” podcast, referring to her recent summer vacation. “My brother got engaged, which also by the time I saw the rumors that I got engaged, it was past the time that I could say something on Instagram.”
Instead of immediately addressing the speculation that DeSorbo’s boyfriend had popped the question, she waited until she recorded a podcast episode with cohost Hannah Berner to clear the air.
“I have to formally apologize because I always end up part of the drama and I don’t even mean [to],” Berner, 34, chimed in during Friday’s episode. “We were FaceTiming, as we do, and I smiled and Paige was dying laughing. It brings me joy to see you laughing so hard at my ugly face. So, I screenshotted it and I posted it so innocently.”
While DeSorbo never saw Berner’s upload, hoards of social media users believed the image looked like the Bravolebrity had excitedly shared engagement news.
“So, you started a rumor about me while I was, like, literally having IBS symptoms,” DeSorbo quipped. “Did I do something to you? … My mom was getting text messages, she was like, ‘Wait, what?'”
DeSorbo’s family was busy celebrating her brother Gary‘s actual engagement news at the time.
“I literally am so excited for them,” she said, noting her future sister-in-law “doesn’t have Instagram” and missed the rumors completely. “They don’t give a s*** at all, like, they didn’t know. They were like, ‘What?’ They are real people living in the real world. … Can I wear a white dress and have a laugh?”
Us Weekly confirmed in July 2025 that DeSorbo had moved on following her 2024 split from Southern Charm star Craig Conover and was “quietly dating” D’Amelio, a sports marketing executive.
“Things between them are going really well,” a source told Us at the time. “It took a few months for Paige to warm up to being in another relationship again, but she moved on after Craig and is genuinely happy.”
DeSorbo did not debut her relationship with D’Amelio via social media, but she confirmed to Us exclusively in February that things were still going strong.
“We’re exclusive,” DeSorbo said at the time. “I’m in my 30s, so it’s not like I’m out every single weekend going out on multiple dates like I would have been in my 20s.”
The former reality star called their romance “really fun” and “very relaxing” before gushing over dating an Italian man.
“I feel like they get a reputation that they’re not quiet,” she explained. “But they’re quiet — and I appreciate that.”
DeSorbo added, “Like, they know when to speak and when not to and I like that. That’s important. It’s important [for] a man to know when to shut it.”
Because of DeSorbo’s reality TV past — she was on Summer House from 2019 to 2025 — she’s used to being in a public relationship. However, she wanted to do things differently with D’Amelio.
“It was such a balancing act,” she recalled to Us at the time. “I feel like when I was on reality TV — I started when I was 25 — it feels very, like, that was my 20s. Obviously, I’m in charge of my own decisions and stuff [now]. So it’s nice to be able to decide what I share and what I don’t [with] personal stuff.”
DeSorbo announced her departure from Summer House in 2025, months after confirming on her “Giggly Squad” podcast that she and Conover, 37, had split.
“Craig and I have decided to no longer be together. I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends,” she said in December 2024. “No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing. I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”
